class chalet (more like rejects, actually) was very meh. i left on the last night partly because we had to check-out before 1030am the next day and i was worn out. i was disappointed many times during the chalet, but i had expected such things to happen. how can i not love my class after all these months?

starbucks' caramel macchiato ice-cream tastes weird, especially the caramel. we should've went for hot chocolate fudge. haagen dazs' chocolate fondue is not worth your money.. i've never been in favour of haagen dazs anyway. try swensen's! i love sticky chewy chocolate yumz.

sem results + class allocation will be released on 20march. i hope i made the right choice and i pray that my gpa will improve this semester too. life's too short for regrets. i'll just keep pressing on. one of these days, the people who look down on me because i was from anderson and got posted to nanyang will have to face me on their television screen every night while i report the news live.

the prettiest camera in the world. i'd love to own one in red because 1. red is my favourite colour 2. i am in favour of nikon 3. you can purchase different lenses in the same colour! it's so gorgeous, i wish i could touch one. let's not even talk about owning one. it's retailing at almost $1000, which makes it as expensive as the usual dslr. BUT this baby is much more compact + colourful. and canon doesn't have these, so take that uh huh.

i've been thinking of getting a new camera because my electric blue lulu's been a great companion since 2009, but it's still working fine so i doubt i'll be replacing her.

everytime i want to read a certain book, i'll always find out that the movie is somehow coming soon in theatres. take for example, david nicholl's one day. i had no idea that the movie was going to be released in a few month's time. and the perks of being a wallflower by stephen chbosky (ah. i had to google his name), i didn't know a movie based on the book is in the making. i was even more surprised when i found out that logan lerman and emma watson will be starring in that movie.

and now, jonathan safran foer's extremely loud and incredibly close has a movie? i haven't had the chance to find this book in the library yet though i did ask fadz to help search it up for me once at woodlands. why do i always unintentionally want to read books without knowing that the movies are going to be screened soon.

there are a few neglected posts in my drafts, and i can't seem to properly blog about current happenings (save for fb pictures) because i've also been hooked on this kdrama since monday. take care of us, captain! / fly again / yes, captain! was aired in korea around january and the twelfth episode just aired recently. i'm finally not lagging out on something. gotta thank my papa for introducing me to this kdrama BUT WHY NOW PAPA, I'M HAVING FREAKING SEMESTRAL EXAMS!!

in any way, i finished watching all 12 episodes and i can't fucking wait for episode 13. you don't know how many buckets of tears i've cried while watching the episodes. i do admit that it's hard for me to cry when there are no subtitles, because i don't understand a single shit they say unless it's a question. and because i'm too lazy to type a brief description, let me leave you with this photo.

accidental froyo adventure today!

my friends and i travelled from yio chu kang to boon lay (quite a feat) for our late lunch and everyone's indecisiveness, sug's especially, annoyed bran. he has issues today. i have never seen a guy mood swing as much as he does, but that's brandon for you. but really, i felt pissy too because sug wanted to go to bukit batok, changed her mind to woodlands, followed by chua chu kang, back to bukit batok again, and all of us finally settled for boon lay after she wanted to check out the unfinished jcube at jurong east.

it kind of annoys me to type the whole sentence, even! sug, if you see this, i'm sorry but you gotta set your mind straight for something when you want it bitch. hahaha but seriously sug, i mean it ಠ_ಠ

we went to fig & olive for lunch, mainly because they had a 1-for-1 deal which was too hard to pass. we are cheaposunited! it was our virgin visit and the food looked appetizing, though looks are deceiving. i don't think the rest enjoyed their food as much as i did because... 1. tin and bran had this mediterranean-style chicken with olive rice, tin said the portions are too little and bran wanted more olives 2. sug said the figo bbq sauce on her chicken tasted like chao tah expired bbq sauce. and i've got no complains because i had sicilian tuna penne, tunaislove. and their crepes are freaking expensive, at $7.90 per serving. no idea if they serve it in generous portions, but i doubt we'll ever come back for more.

but good news! we walked around and guess what....

EVEN THE WEBSITE IS ADORABLE. sour sally is a frozen yogurt outlet from indonesia that also serves smoothies and shaved ice. being a froyo addict, i had to try some! bran got an original medium cup with mangoes and mochi topping, while i got a small cup of candy mix i.e. kiwi and strawberry froyo, for $4.50.

my goodness.. it tastes sooo good! i was a bit hesitant on trying both flavours together, so i tried the kiwi froyo first. meh. sour and tasted nothing like kiwi. BUT when you try both flavours at the same time... it's like sex in your mouth hahaha (pardon me and my lack of proper vocabulary). sour sally's candy mix is genius. the strawberry froyo complemented the kiwi froyo very well, which gets the candy mix two thumbs up from me.

although bran and i agreed that it kinda tastes like ice cream, the sourness of the froyo really made me awake and happy all over again! sour sally's original froyo isn't too tarty either. and the salesgirl gave bran tons of topping to the extent that he made me take some of his mochi. baik ah.

ahhh sour sally. i will always get a medium cup of candy mix from now on whenever i'm at jurong point or wisma atria :> looks like my job here is done. time for hardcore studying!! and i've meant it all this while.

my goodness.. i didn't blog about fazzy's birthday surprise.

after a screwed up presentation, i rushed out of school to meet aryn. we ended up buying this petite cookies and cream cake from polar, which almost melted because we had to wait for the birthday boy to end his meeting. i have to admit, ij's interior is really vibrant. their cca rooms were like small huts in the centre of the school. even the bookshop looks cool! enough about ij, fazzy was surprised that we came to ij just for him but we're like shut up and eat this melting cake. it was a great tuesday catching up with andkids, mhmmz.

yessa, back to my life right now. i am dying while doing my ms excel group project. i have this member, well... you can say that he's suddenly into this project now but he wants the easiest way out. and that's not how people get As, okay. he even told me that he thinks i have ocd. what kind of fuckery are you trying to say? i genuinely appreciate your help but if you carry on like this, there's no way i'll let you touch the group's database. which is why i told them that i'll do this chunk of work and they can do the rest. so rude.

all photos are edited using toycamera analog. finally decided to test this application out, it's been in my laptop since last year. quite pleased with the effects but i honestly don't know how toy camera photos are supposed to look like so... i guess this is it? and i'm upset that i couldn't eat my bunnykinz marsh cos it contains gelatin ): proud of branz cos he was one of the two boys who got full marks for stats hehe.

i got my mood ring and glow-in-the-dark ring from the blogshop stated in the photo. after days of frantic online searching, i found a blogshop which had these rings in stock + does meetups. it's rare to find a blogshop like this, since most of them only sell in bulk/capping at x number of items (still no idea what "cap" means.. enlighten me?) and the idea of meeting up to pass customers their purchased goods died down when the more popular blogshops started accepting bank transfers. which i hate because there's always so many people at the atm hmph.

nonetheless, i'm glad i got my rings today and that they fit me perfectly. for starters, the mood ring kinda works. it was black when i received it and once i wore the ring, it slowly changed to dark blue aka i am a very happy girl. very pleased that it works :> and to be honest, that was my first time blog shopping.

this has been my all time favourite song since i was 12, aka psle period. i remember listening to 987fm (previously called perfect10) almost every night while studying, eagerly waiting for this song to play on the radio. most people say this song is about depression. i think i'd agree to this because i've always labelled it as the-happy-sounding-sad-song. listen closely to the lyrics and maybe you'll be on the same frequency as i am.

i won't get emotional over the best and the worst of 2011 because hey, they balance out each other though i believe this year has got to be one of the best of my teenage years.

i lost someone i thought i loved with all my heart in march.
but i gained a close group of loving friends in the midst of april.

life and its surprises that almost made me feel like dying. this year has been truly remarkable. i graduated from anderson after four years of hell. i went for my first job interview with chia. i "clubbed" for the first time in the middle of the ocean with my classmates. i tried to discover myself. i found my passion in baking and bits of photography. i kept in contact with most of my good friends in primary and secondary school. i welcomed daania after a few hours she was born. i went to so many new places. i broke my curfew way too many times. i'm thankful i was given the chance to be alive to see 2011 happen right before my eyes.

and now, 2012 is already here.

and yes, i have never spent new year's eve with anyone other than my family. i guess i don't feel the need to drink, party, or be in my lover's arms at the stroke of midnight. happy new year, everyone. let's all be happy! :)

back to basics

just a short post of today before my annual pre/post-ny post tomorrow. time flies like a ninja, i was initially caught by surprise when i reminded myself that tomorrow is 31 december 2011 aka ny's eve aka the last day before 2012. so here's a short story of my ny's eve eve.

i entered nyp after more than a week of term break for a useless project meeting because well.. my group leader was playing tai ti on his phone and everything was just a mess. i'm really panicking right now, but i can't seem to express it well. my gpa is not that great, it doesn't mean that i don't mind slacking and getting lousy grades. actually my plan for today was to collect my reserved book from the library and bake bread&butter pudding when i'm home. but nope, it didn't happen. i stayed in school till evening reading where she went. ohmylord i could've just cried then and there ;_; though i didn't because darren and bran annoyed the shit out of me by playing some kpop song. (shiuan. if you see this, i do judge people by their music playlist. not sure if that's bad..)

then tin, bran, and i decided that we should go indian for dinner and went for prata @ the prata place in upper thomson. it was their first visit there, so i was a wonderful tourguide ahemz. i recommended the maggie mee goreng and cheese prata to the boys, and i'm glad they liked it though tin said the plain prata was nothing special. no photos here because we were hungry kids craving for prata. later on, i managed to drag them to awfully chocolate's cafe at sembawang hills drive for dessert. i have such powers on them. no wonder i'm one of the boys. which is an awesome fact, because brotip #999 - bros before hoes, chicks before dicks.

well, we got lost at nee soon. no surprises but it was damn ulu and there were lots of lizards crawling around.. anyway, we reached awfully chocolate and each of us got a scoop of ice cream ($3.80 per scoop, $6.20 for double scoop). it's called the "hei hei" ice cream, because my sources told me the chinese character literally is hei. and here is bran's artsy take on his ice cream! i made him whatsapp the photo to me since his iphone's camera is better than my phone's.

i really love hei! even though it had a very rich chocolatey flavour and such a lovely texture, both of which i'm in favour of, i couldn't finish my scoop because there was simply too much. my throat felt dry after downing half of the ice cream. tin finished his first, because the salesgirl scooped him the least amount of ice cream and bran finished his even though he was whining about how sinful it was. we stayed there, talking nonsense while eating our ice cream. i don't think the salesgirls liked us because we had the weirdest convos ever in front of the register, and bran shaped his ice cream into a.. yup, that.

i don't recommend going to awfully chocolate @ sembawang hills drive unless you're driving. the bus takes aeons to arrive and it's always crowded. it's best if you share a scoop of hei with your friends because even though they said a scoop on the menu, they don't mean it literally like ben&jerry's do! as you can see from the above photo, it's like a giant scoop topped with a small scoop. the portions are very generous, even the icing on their chocolate cupcakes look like mountains. have yet to try their truffles and cake, it looks so sinful can die. verdict: a visit to awfully chocolate is definitely worth your $$.

so that's the story of ny's eve eve, which i spent foodxploring with the two boys.

edit this didn't turn out as a short post afterall. anyway, tin's sick so he lost his filter. he wanted to say havaianas, yet he said haagen dazs. bran was wearing his marc jacobs slippers (yes wtf marc jacobs slippers. insane), and tin said "eh lend me your marc anthony slippers." hahaha oh god, it's even funnier than the time bran said steven gerrard is a goalkeeper. /edit

to melaka, malaysia (i don't like it when people spell it as malacca.. don't judge). my family and my mama's secondary school friends decided to head up to melaka for fun and food. for the first time during the holidays, i woke up at 8am to wash up and get ready for the one day trip. it wasn't so bad really, since i had company. actually, it's like most of the other trips to malaysia. we managed to drop by my eastside nenek's house for lunch before having some fun. here goes nothing.

yes, freakin' a&w bitchessss. i had a whole jug of root beer to myself because the float tasted weird. they should totally invest in quality vanilla ice cream, i wouldn't mind paying more. only because it's in ringgit malaysia hehehehe. okay so mama's friend decided that we should go to this place in umbai, melaka for dinner but we sorta got lost and reached the place only two hours later. the coolest thing about the dinner (or supper, rather) place is that you get to pick your seafood before telling them how you want it to be cooked. so here's what the adults ordered!

two dishes are missing though, the fried butter squid and sambal stingray. the food looked really great but i lost my appetite in the car, so i only had bits of this and that without the rice. my mama's friends might think i'm anorexic or something. gosh, please don't judge me. i eat like a bloody pig at home. but only when i feel like it. anyway, we had fresh sugarcane juice to go down with supper and since i have something against overcooked seafood, this place is great for people who love to create their own menu. there were a few singapore cars there too, so i guess it's not only popular amongst the locals.

we drove down to singapore and it was scary because it was close to midnight and there were so many rubber trees at the side of the roads. because it's ethical for people to sleep after a heavy meal, i fell asleep at the side because the window was open and i like the feeling of the midnight breeze through my hair. yan (mama's friend's son) was complaining about not getting any wind. poor guy, he couldn't sleep so he watched some videos on his iphone to keep him company. which in turn, woke me up.

i guess that was how the roadtrip ended. i can't wait for more roadtrips. and i certainly wish that my secondary school friends will still remember me by the time we almost hit 50. i pray harder that fazzy will drive me around next year in search of good food or when i'm just too lazy to take the public transport hehe. yeah, fazzy will never see this post even though he knows my blog url. because he is a lazyass like that yo.

i bought three books during the mph bookfair @ sg expo with seri last week. the deal was too good, 1 for $5 and 5 for $20. it's just not right for me to miss it, so here are the titles!

for $12!!!!!!!!! i think there isn't enough exclamation marks in the world to further emphasize on my point. it was heaven. yes, and i spent last friday evening staring at airplanes take off at terminal 2 of changi airport. it's true when they said that it was therapeutic. imagine all the people going on a holiday. imagine all the tourists flying back to their homeland. then, imagine me sitting down there. miserably waiting for my well-deserved break. some projects are almost towards the completion stage, and i haven't had a single meeting this week. i love technology for this but yet sometimes i wish my group were more bonded, in a sense. deadlines coming up in two weeks! we can do this :)

and national library board sent me letters a few days ago. i quickly collected the books on that day itself because i've heard lots of people raving about them online.

let's get this post rolling with me bragging on how i think my friends and i are the only people i know who will stop everything we're doing just to rap nicki minaj's super bass. and for the record, i think we did justice to the song even though i was singing with a sore throat ALL the way _o/

so, yay us!

we headed to cash studio family karaoke @ cuppage plaza after lunch and all of us (thirteen teenagers who probably frequent the town area a lot) almost couldn't find the place hehe. eventually we did and went straight into the karaoke room after renee, zhixin and i have settled our booking. apparently they kind of lost my name, but it was alright since the matter was resolved in less than 10 minutes.

obviously i won't blog about all the songs in our playlists, who sang what and the songs that are forever ruined in my memory. darren was such a nuisance though, and jun an made a 'service announcement' on the mic (attention everyone, do not pass anything that is capable of making noise i.e. maracas, tambourines and microphones to darren. thanks). christine came over with her boyfriend and he bought a can of iced lemon tea for everyone.

our main purpose for the day wasn't karaoke though. it was...

joshua got me a red notepad and merci chocolates in the red box because i mentioned in my wish list how i love food, books and fluffy things. initially i was a bit meh when i saw the red notepad but hey, it's the thought that matters AND he got everything in red. not to mention that the merci red box i.e. milk chocolate is one of my favourites! thank you so much, josh :> we'll make covers in future together, yeah.

since i've uploaded all my photos on facebook, why don't you go and check them out? sincere apologies if you aren't my friend on facebook though. my friends have tried to beg me countess of times to be less strict about my album privacy, but i refuse to budge. i just don't want unwanted people to see all my photos. don't judge.

alex got me a fluffy red bath towel with my name on it. she actually got the bath towels for my whole family, but she got embarrassed because my papa's name was spelled incorrectly. hahaha she's the cutest, really :>

oh! we entered abercrombie & fitch before heading to cuppage plaza too hehe. most of us took a polaroid with the staff and moral of the story: models are the worst photographers ever (the top two polaroids were taken by the male model, he can't seem to adjust the necessary amount of headroom for each photo. okay lah, can't blame him. he's just a model, anyway.)

maybe they should make models take up basic photography lessons so that they'll know a thing or two about photo composition and why some photos of almost the same subject look better than the other. photoshop, my dear. i need to learn how to use that bloody software.

i keep getting out of point ugh. i really recommend cash studios family karaoke to everyone who loves to sing in huge groups because it's so cheap, there's no booking fee, and the rooms are clean and huge! if i'm not mistaken, the charges are $30++ for the first three people (not each three sia) and subsequently $5++ per head. the service was not too bad either, though renee and i felt that the lady at the counter seemed to be buay song. whatever it is, everyone enjoyed the event :)

after dinner at *scape, we went shopping at the flea and the boys got themselves a fake leather bracelet thingy together hahahah so cute. then they were joking on how i'm not one of them anymore cos according to some of them, i am "one of the boys" only because i understand their lingo and i thought them a new lingo for masturbate i.e. fap. which reminds me of another story. a few weeks back, all freshmen had the selection talk for next year. so the lecturer in front said something about the results being released in late feb and the guys swore they all turned to me but i wasn't looking because i was too engrossed in my game of monopoly deal. in a lecture hall. HAHAHAHA. okay what a fucking long-winded sentence of unimportant information.

remember, about more than a month ago, when i said that i was currently reading before i fall by lauren oliver?

yup. i finished reading it yesterday. i don't even know how to review this book. i just thought it is beautifully written and well thought of. definitely worth the read if you have a thing for heart-breaking stories with, in a sense, happy endings. ugh i have this mad love for lauren oliver ever since i finished reading delirium and now, this. i can't wait for the release of pandemonium! that's the second book of her delirium series and i am D Y I N G to find out what happens to lena and whether alex still survives! they were so cute together in the book, i just can't imagine her trying to love someone else. sigh, alright enough book-ranting.

i haven't been up to anything of significant importance lately. i guess i've been focusing quite a lot on my group projects because i don't wanna spend all my time during december term break for it. and when school reopens, i'll be busy with school's open house and all. i actually have no idea why i signed up for it, but i bet it's gonna be lots of fun since my classmates have signed up for it too. but sadly, project submissions are exactly a week after the open house. so i've really got to manage my time well in december.

then there'll be talks about our specializations and overseas exhange in december, too.

i mean, i know what i want but... i just can't stop doubting myself.

i've been wanting to type a post like this since last year's prom. but i decided to keep it until now, even though i don't know who exactly reads my posts anyway. alright so... let's begin!

take an ice cube and gently rub it against your face and neck
i heard from my mama that this helps your make-up to stay on longer.

apply an even amount of foundation to your face
because it makes your make-up last longer, too.

don't over-powder your face
cakey faces are a huge no-no, although almost every girl is guilty of that.
also, don't just apply foundation and powder to your face. apply necessary amounts of each product to your neck and arms (if you're wearing a sleeveless dress). it kinda evens out your skin tone... this is an important point.

the make-up equation
bold eye make-up + nude lips + rouge = perfection.
and vice versa, minimal eye make-up + bold coloured lips + rouge = perfection, too.

always bring blotting paper
cos the disco ball be the only thang shinin' yo.

bring your lipstick in the purse
so you can touch up after the buffet, before you take some photos.

when you take photos, don't press your arm against your body
it really does make your arm look flabby. instead, place your hand on your waist and smile; it'll be many times better, as long as you don't slouch.

no point splurging in expensive shoes because no one will see them
unless you're nominated as prom queen.

i don't know where to begin.

here's a mention about the boys and me watching pa3 at amkhub two weeks ago, i think. i accidentally chose mid-front seats, front as in the seats in front of us were all vacant. good luck with that. hidh and i (the chickens) were in the middle of fadz and abdur. well, no surprises over hidh and fadz's reactions but abdur was giving hilarious comments every now and then. if you want to watch a 'scary' movie, make sure abdur is by your side hm.

alright, pardon my previous angst-filled post.
here's a happier one.

i stood by the house door for natural lightning, 'cos lulu only works best with it. i have officially finished using my first roll of film, and i had two films to spare. apparently the way you insert the film will affect whether you'll get extra film or not. my feet kinda looks stubby in the last photo. whatever it is, i am excited to see the developed photos even though they're not really that awesome, as compared to sw's, because i didn't really think about "from which angle should i shoot it?" or "should i turn off the flash?". there's always a first to everything.

yesterday, i went to clementi mall with feeq for a marketing assignment. here's what we got:

i would definitely pick strawberry cheesecake as my favourite flavour, and it is, but cotton candy ice cream is a unique flavour that you can't find anywhere else (i think?). i have always loved baskin-robbins because their ice cream is relatively cheaper and better tasting compared to ehem, ben&jerry's. but i can't put this in my report. so here it is, on my blog!

the topping wasn't my choice because, factaboutme, i hate nuts on froyo and ice cream. they just... don't click. so anyway i didn't choose the topping because feeq decided to give me a treat. but only because he arrived clementi later than i did, and i specifically told him that i'm rarely punctual. so anyway, he says that br's vanilla ice cream looks like mentega (read: butter). which is true, then after he said it the vanilla ice cream didn't look so appealing anymore.

first round was the king scoop! i really have a thing for ice creams with creamy textures, because that kinda shows that it's made with cream > ice. okay, i don't think there's any logic behind my statement. so you be the judge. no guesses as to which one i loved the most, but the cookies&cream had big chunks of still-crunchy cookies in it. the jamoca almond fudge tasted like chocolate-coffee ice cream, and it had whole almonds in it. i think it was the only ice cream feeq chose that went well with his topping of choice haha.

but overall, have you been to baskin-robbins? if you haven't, then make a quick visit to any outlet (there's only two; novena square and clementi mall) PRONTO. you seriously have no clue what you're missing out on. to make things better, you can grab tutti frutti if you go to clementi mall and the yummiest donuts from donut factory in novena square. good lord, i sound like an amateur foodie. and my waist line is slowly proving my previous statement.

just thought i'd include a tilted view of my bedroom window. yup.

next post: maybe something prom-related? oh god you don't know how much i wished my secondary school prom was awesome. they don't get that we're supposed to dance our asses off on prom night. everyone was too busy taking photos with people. maybe even people whom they barely talk to. and you know what?

what's the point of taking lots of pictures to remind yourself of prom night when all you can do is to dance around and have fun. sure, pictures are memories. but does the picture remind you of what you did during prom? no.

sadly i wasted my prom night walking around, talking to people, and singing in the middle of the dance floor (which was filled with stupid asses who kept taking photos with their stupid ass friends) with a few of my close friends. hell yeah, people be judgin'

currently at the fast food canteen with my cousin's group of friends (we are lecture mates, btw) and i just did possibly one of the most badass things in my life. i skipped thirty minutes of lecture for breakfast and some catharsis with alex. and then it happened.

i entered the lecture late and walked out of it while the dr was showing some examples.

he called after me, "girl, where do you think you're going?"

"err, i have stuff to get. bye."

the dr asked the people around me what i had mumbled. i seriously can't give a damn anymore, and left from the back door. of course, only then did i realise that i left alex behind. i thought she was running behind me. i honestly feel terrible.

simply, the dr has been the kind of lecturer who keeps bragging about all the badass stuff he did which always violated the school rules. what an example to look up to, no? he doesn't give breaks in between his lectures because he believes that students won't be back for the second half punctually, so you can actually walk out of the lecture anytime you want. but from the back door, of course.

here's what i did: alex and i entered the lt near 11am. it was bad enough that we were seated at the front row. scan around the lt and half of his students are missing. we all believed that there was no lecture today as he mentioned the previous week that he'll be overseas (but the date was never audibly mentioned).

i grabbed all my books and made a run for it. then shit happened.

2. remember his free access rule? self-explanatory.

okay, i admit. it was wrong of me to walk out of the dr's lecture. but if you mentally weigh out all the factors, ultimately the root of the problem is still the dr. what a manbitch.

i am so gonna shift the blues to wednesday. waking up in the morning to attend a class conducted by a lecturer who reads off the slides is definitely not ideal, although i want to believe that he's only doing so because we're into theory for now and there's very few examples which require calculation. the only thing that kept me awake during marketing lecture (which is directly after poa) was my period cramps. our hopes of having kfc for breakfast got crushed when i called them at 1030, because their lines only open at 1030, only to find out that they don't deliver breakfast meals. how annoying. and to add on, i was calling kfc in the midst of carina's lecture. because everyone knows that food > everything else.

i accompanied alex to serangoon because she wanted to find something at nex, though she didn't. so we had glacious' froyo and drink tea's milk tea.

glacious is having a 30% discount till 31 October, so you can swirl as much froyo as you like! although i don't really enjoy their froyo because it tastes more like ice cream. a little more to the icy side, so it tastes like water when it melts. they don't have much toppings, mostly fruits, as compared to swirl@rt and tutti frutti though. i like how the interior of the shop is brightly-coloured with white and blue furnishings. the staff at the counter were friendly and helpful too. alex wanted to try sogurt, but i told her it's best not to because i didn't really like sogurt anyway and both of us haven't tried glacious.

but if you're at nex, you HAVE to try drink tea's pudding milk tea (M, 100% sugar, and less ice) with roselle pearls aka pink pearls! we really loved the pink pearls because they were soft and chewy with a subtle hint of rose. i was very pleased with the generous portion of pudding they poured into my cup. for 15 minutes straight, i was happily chewing on to my pearls and pudding before we could board the train. then i bumped into omark. and his friends in the train. but nothing compares to alex's bimbo moment, which ended up with me cursing everything and running away from my friend's friends *facepalm*

i've been raving about these cupcakes since afternoon because they're finally baked perfectly (this is my second attempt). although i believe that i accidentally over-baked about a dozen of them since their outside was a little brownish. nonetheless, the inside of this glorious baby is amazingly moist and fluffy. my first attempt resulted to very oily and almost raw in the middle cupcakes. and i didn't have cream cheese on hand, so my red velvet cupcakes weren't worthy of being called so. but i decided to switch recipes, so i guess here's my mini pride and joy :) in case you want to try this out, because you just really have to, here's the link ← click!

i finally got to use my ikea muffin liners, although they didn't exactly fit my pan height-wise, months after purchasing them. i guess the liners suit the red theme almost perfectly and i seriously think that they were such a steal! imagine ikea selling a small plastic box of 65 muffin liners, which comes in three different designs, for only $1.50. now think of someone like me, who tries to be so hardcore at baking, buying four small plastic boxes of muffin liners. for freaking $6. how can THAT not be worth my money, eh? and to think i only used 25 liners today. it's not about being greedy, there's only two ikea stores in singapore (and apparently, they're relatively small compared to the other stores in the world e.g. sweden but it's a bad comparison because sweden is where ikea originated from!) and they aren't located near my neighbourhood. stocking up ftw.

and i prefer going to tampines' ikea because it's bigger, newer and it has a line for halal swedish meatballs. god bless the creation of meatballs even though i'm not a huge fan of beef.

can't wait to surprise the rejects with my red babies. only brandon, renee, and alex know about this. my extremely long semester break is finally coming to an end. here's to studying all over again.

i had the greatest and most panicky bus ride ever with renee and brandon, because renee and i missed our last train home. i word vomited everything into a draft post earlier and i wonder if it's worth publishing. nonetheless, i have the greatest friends who panic along with me. although my parents would say otherwise because when i'm with them, i always come home late. but they can't blame my friends because i enjoy spending time with them way too much till i end up losing track of time. so it truly is my fault for being irresponsible.

but hey, i believe that being this way is key to growing up. making mistakes, taking risks, being irresponsible, learning from your past experiences, and doing things you probably would've never imagined.

i cannot sleep, i cannot dream tonight. i miss you. by blink 182. so anyway, i did the most embarrassing thing just now and no one has probably done anything as dumb as i did. i told a guy that i liked him, only after he was almost done sharing his girl problems with me (and i joked about him getting his period haha)... via whatsapp.

i had a lazy, lonely monday afternoon. i spent my time reading before i decided to give mayday parade's new self-titled album a listen. i didn't exactly listen to every song on the album because i only had stay (the song featured above) and without the bitter the sweet isn't as sweet stuck in my head, though i prefer stay to the latter because i feel that i can somehow relate a lot more to it.

this is why i love mayday parade. their songs are so heart-breakingly good, it kills me to listen to them. and i like how they have such great (yet super long) titles for every song. and stay is actually their shortest song title to date, the longest being "you be the anchor that keeps my feet on the ground, i'll be the wings that keep your heart in the clouds". what a mouthful, eh? their beats are extremely catchy, and most of their lyrics are personal and touching.
dear mayday parade, please come to singapore again soon :(

can't believe that it's been over three months since the sweet collision. i missed all time low in singapore, and fadz said it was the BOMB. it's alright. i spent my 6 october with the rejects swimming, partying and so many other stuff. happy thoughts, always.

SBM CRUISE WITH REJECTS ♡

this post is only for day 1, realised i have a little too much to blog about the whole trip because it was so fun and dramatic on the first night. alright so here i go!

it started out with alex and i meeting in yew tee before proceeding to harbourfront and suguna joined us for some yummy froyo @ yigloo (refer to post #235). we finally met the rest for lunch at the chicken rice shop and i shared a plate of whole shrimp wantons with alex. and they were nice, although i find the thin layer of crisp wanton skin rather unworthy of $7.90 and the prawns were a little too overcooked. justin kinda paid for our table's meal because we somehow forgot to pay him back, but it's alriiiight he's working hehe.

all of us grabbed a cup of gong cha before we walked to habourfront centre for attendance with our suspicious articles aka luggages. starcruise's penguin mascot is freaking scary please, it freaking grabbed my shoulder and i was giving the 'shocked hurhurhur' face while the photographer was taking our picture. the aftermath? a picture of me squinting while being hugged by a furry beast. i think all their mascots have a thing against me. and a crew member thought i was a filipino when i asked him for directions and my friends were saying that he was totally digging me fuckmylife.

suguna, zhixin and i settled into our cozy cabin and started trying on each other's clothes for the fun of it before walking around the ship. we kinda got lost from the others because their rooms were right beside one another at mid-ship, while ours was at the very front. my cabin freaking went for the supposedly "compulsory" safety drill without knowing that we could just skip it -_- the three of us went to the buffet and had supper by the window while the ship started sailing off.

it was an amazing experience, since i've never really been on a cruise before. though i have to admit that when the ship started to sail close to midnight, i wasn't walking straight and i felt a little woozy for a few minutes. but thank god i didn't have to suffer from seasickness :) and then i started to miss mama's cooking! (i forgot to eat lunch at home, imagine my misery) oh and my cabin mates got the habit of stealing handfuls of liquid creamer everytime we hit to the mediterranean buffet hehe.

so anyway we retreated back to our cabins and got a little disappointed that the others didn't bother looking for us. you could imagine our happiness (and my shock, because i was only wearing a tank and shorts) when all of them came knocking on our cabin door at almost 2 in the morning. they told us the waiter kicked them out of the disco because they wanted to buy drinks and when he swiped their cabin cards, tada! they're underage, except for renee. next plan was to go over to the boys' cabin to play card games and chit chat. but we didn't until after an hour. because we tried to get into the disco, just to in your face them :p

the three of us kind of got our way into the disco at 230am and found a group of year2s drinking beer and dancing horribly to bieber. it was such an eyesore so we decided to get out and walk around a little longer before going over to the boys' cabin around 3am to play card games. i had less than an hour of sleep because suguna suddenly started puking quite badly in the wee hours of the morning at 5am, so i had to call up the operator to get through old chan and the other lecturers to help her seek for medical attention. their operator service sucked so bad, we called for a wheelchair three times and a wheelchair assistant arrived without the wheelchair twenty minutes later. and that was already at 720am. i missed the sunrise view on the terrace (since our cabin had no windows or portholes). how annoying.

this is getting so wordy. i like.

meet up with the rejects to enjoy singapore food before we went on the cruise. of course, frozen yogurt isn't exactly "singapore food". but you can't get froyo in the middle of the sea, right! i was with alex and since we reached vivo first, we decided to have a virgin visit to yigloo. i am so lucky alex is in love with froyo as much as i am :> i liked the shop's concept. it was minimalistic (think white walls and white mini-furniture) and very whimsical, thanks to the extremely kiddie sized furniture.

enough of the furnishings. here's what we had!

we were almost about to order our cups when suguna appeared with her luggage. luckily for her, yigloo was having a "buy 2 get 1 free" promotion. alex and i chose the medium cups; she had blueberry and peanut butter froyo with granola, peaches and strawberries while i had raspberry and vanilla with strawberries and fruity pebbles. as for the free cup, suguna isn't a fan of froyo so we picked for her cookies&cream with oreo crumbs. yigloo charges you per cup, just like frolick, but the awesome thing is the prices are fixed so you can choose whatever and how many kinds of toppings you'd like (as far as i remember). eventually we ended up paying $6.50 for each of our medium cups.

i love froyo, so my judgement may and can be biased at times. i did mention that suguna dislikes froyo, didn't i? the cup of cookies&cream with oreo crumbs totally converted her into a froyo lover. alright maybe "lover" is a little too extreme, but she reaaaaaally liked it anyways. i honestly preferred yigloo's cookies&cream to sogurt's because it tasted a lot more cookie-ish, though i believe that our decision to add oreo crumbs complements the froyo's taste and texture. my raspberry and vanilla cup is seriously great, the perfect combination of sweet and tart. and i LOVE yigloo's peanut butter froyo! it's a lot more peanut butter-y compared to swirl@rt's and the blueberry froyo went very well with it.

hah i was so in love then. can't wait for my next visit!

wow, i went for a musical with seri and it was in bahasa indonesia (but i think they toned it down a lot, sounded just like normal singapore malay. tapi bukan melayu pasar k.) i thought it was gonna be boring and dry, so you could imagine my surprise when i found myself enjoying this. i loved all the characters, especially lintang! there were so many funny moments in the musical but i think the sad scenes were the ones that made me really love it. they weren't just singing and acting. it felt really emotional and believable that i actually cried, especially during the part lintang's dad died and he had to leave sd muhammadiyah in search of money for his family. he had to leave his best friend, ikal, behind as well. but ikal is such a joker in the musical! i like how the kid actor can have fun and be serious on set with such ease. and i don't know if it's just me, but i think that the only girl and the biggest guy (i don't know their naaames) have a thing for each other. they look a little too affectionate on set hehehe.

i'm a horrible reviewer but i really just enjoyed it, alright? there was a technical glitch of some sort and they opened the bar counter for complimentary drinks. we didn't grab any because well... i don't know. we were busy reading. and i swear to god, i don't think i can ever read and appreciate great expectations. it's so thick and i could barely understand what dickens is trying to mean! so right now, i am currently reading before i fall by lauren oliver, the author of delirium. after the musical, seri and i went to times @ msq for some book shopping and then to woodlands for stale long john silver's hurhur.

and my mama scolded me for spending money on books, yet again. alright! so from now on, i'll make a list of books that i wanna read on goodreads.com and buy them only when i'm really done with those on my shelf. just maybe.

perfect timing really! i had a self-proclaimed "bestfriends weekend" and i have every reason to call it so. i spent friday night having supper and the weirdest conversations at macs with danish, saturday night rummaging through piles and piles of books on discount at borders followed by window-shopping which lead to many impulse buys with seri, and sunday (which is today) reading dorian gray while having dinner with fadzly who was studying geography before our inevitable lepak session.

that is one hell of a freaking long sentence, someone should fail my writing now.

in short, i spent this weekend with my best friends and i'm thankful that they had some spare time for me. although i do pity their ears because they had to listen to my non-stop rants and stuff. but hey, i'm glad to say that i got to know so many new things this weekend (especially from danish and fadz) that i probably wouldn't have known of. and so i'm gonna spend this week with my family since i won't be around much next week thanks to the sbm cruise, which i am totally excited for :>

borders @ parkway parade with seri just now. it was mad crowded with people of all ages searching through messy piles of books. i bought these four, which cost me $20. with that kind of money i'd usually buy just one book and have around $3 to spare. i love book sales but i hate being shoved around kthx.

so many impulse buys! i freaking got a pack of mini paper envelopes, candy coated chocolate with sunflower seeds, and... an off-red mng sweater (for just $19 mind you, how can i not buy it!).

i'm so loving my weekends.

alright, here goes.

i hate how people everywhere, especially males, think it is okay to play with someone's feelings. of course it is such a flattery when you find out that someone has a thing for you, but you don't have to put them on your hook. reject them, and don't lead them on because they will only think that they have all the chances in the world to be with you. when they actually don't.
it's annoying how some boys treat girls like objects in order to achieve sexual gratification or simply just use them for company when they're bored and none of their bros are with them. i may be biased for this point but i really want you to know that you should stop taking the people around you for granted.

alright, i had a nutsy day and i loved it.

yakun breakfast with a few of the 6C boys and i was almost two hours late. i must say, punctuality and i can never be best friends. and apparently the boys were talking about porn until i came to their table. fucking annoying! they've been like this since primary school. some things never change. we played band hero at tan's place and i swear it was the best decision ever :> we had a good laugh for hours because chia was really playing all the instruments like a badass. i love you boys! but i left in the afternoon because i was going to....

meet my mama, adik, and aunty at causeway point for lunch at swensen's. we spent quite some time looking for aunty's maternity stuff and pillows&bolsters for cuzzy wuzzy D afterwards. i swear baby stuff are damn adorable; everything is so comfortable, fluffy, miniature, and fucking costly. so she decided on this super adorable set of bolsters, pillows and mattress with winnie the pooh prints which were on discount (they cost her almost 100bux and i questioned my mama as to why she didn't splurge and pamper me like that hmph).

i didn't know the trailer is up until i watched it on shiuan's blog. the first half of this book bored me almost to death, to be honest. i felt like it was such a chore to read through the pages. but i did anyway because linglin said it's such a good read and once i got on the next half of the book, it was heartbreaking. i bawled my eyes out towards the end, i couldn't help but to feel so sad of almost everything. i really like this book. i saw it on sale in popular (yes, pity me. i wish they had a kino store in lot one.) and grabbed it because this line caught my eye, "twenty years, two people."

gosh, how much i love one-liners.

and i didn't know this book had a movie until seri told me about it. but it is true, the sad reality that people will only appreciate a book once a movie of it has been released. take for example harry potter, fuck you people who claim to have followed harry till the very end but haven't even read a single book from the series. and you people who are said to have followed harry till the very end, but only because everyone else is saying so. i mean one thing for sure, i'm glad that you like harry potter like i do. yes, i'm genuinely glad. but do you fucking appreciate harry potter like i do? i doubt so. i'm not sorry, just thought you'd wanna have a piece of my mind.
